Read the Twighlight Series

I had the day off today! Hooray! This last week, a friend at work lent me the Twighlight series by Stephanie Meyer. I remember the pictures on the books from when Rachel read them when they were new.

I really liked the first 3 books, but I was not a fan of the last book. I wanted it to go in a completely different direction, and the last half of the book was completely boring to me. I couldn't connect with it anymore, and I thought the author's way of tying up loose ends was not the way I hoped it would end. I spent the first half of today getting through it, and I'm glad it's over.

My friend is taking me to the movies later this month and we're going to see the movie. I can't wait to, and I'm glad she was so kind to let me borrow some entertainment. It was fun reading the first 3 1/2 books, so I'm glad it happened.

By the way - the chili was AWESOME! I enjoyed it so much, I want to make more later, maybe after we move. Raffy came home and we went shopping together, and I made dinner. :) This is why I don't have much to post about sometimes. Life is pretty mundane and takes up alot of time.

Candy time! :) Time to go raid the halloween candy...

Hah! You finally read Twilight, eh?

Yeah. NOBODY liked that last one. You should have seen the reviews for it on Amazon the first week after it released. Hardcore fans were PISSED. Good times.

But yeah, Stephanie Meyer lives in Glendale of all places. I'm hesitant but I think I liked the second one the best even though the ending was kinda outa left field. It was the months for me. You know, when you were flipping through the pages with the months written on each one and were cringing all the while.

Hopefully Alice will be home when the movie premieres so we're probably gonna go see it together.

Congrats on the awesome chili. You must share the recipe when you can sometime.

I'll put that on my next post!

You hit the nail on the head. Naturally she would end up with the one guy at the end of book two, but she keeps creating ridiculous and in my opinion, rushed, storylines to pull the main character and the lead guy together again.

I had to check that out. I agreed wholeheartedly with the following from Amazon.com:

"The conclusion is much thinner, despite its interminable length. [...] But that's not the main problem. Essentially, everyone gets everything they want, even if their desires necessitate an about-face in characterization or the messy introduction of some back story. Nobody has to renounce anything or suffer more than temporarily--in other words, grandeur is out. This isn't about happy endings; it's about gratification. A sign of the times?"

Hey, speaking of recipies but not necessarily chili, I made something cool the other day during my bake session- pecan bars. They're like, little pecan pie cookies, except they have a crisp sweetness and not that extra heavy syrupy kind that pecan pie does.

Really, really good. I'm looking forward to making them for my Dad at home. Even though it'll be bad for him, he's a big pecan pie fan and it'll make him happy.

I want to make chili one day, but I have a problem with anything similar to a soup- I keep burning it. I've charcoaled my three attempts at stew, and ruined cabbage soup last week. Charcoaled cabbage is probably the worst smell I've experienced yet.
